Joel L. Piedra specializes in commercial litigation and criminal defense. Mr. Piedra was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida in 2003. He is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts.
Mr. Piedra began his career as an Assistant State Attorney for the North Judicial Circuit and tried cases involving felonies and misdemeanors ranging from armed robbery to DUI's.
He continued to sharpen his trial skills by working for one of the top criminal defense law firms in Central Florida. In 2005, Mr. Piedra moved to Miami and commenced his career as a civil trial lawyer working in the personal injury defense field.
Joel attended Florida State University for his undergraduate studies, obtaining a B.S. in Criminology and Criminal Justice. |

During his undergraduate tenure Mr. Piedra was accepted as a member of the Alpha Phi Sigma, the only national criminal justice honor society for criminal justice majors. He continued his education by pursuing his law degree at Stetson University College of Law.
Mr. Piedra, fluent in both English and Spanish, is a Lieutenant Governor for the ABA Law School and a member of the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division.
